My blogs

Category: Uncategorized

For my last required blog and possibly my last blog of my whole life. I will hope it isn’t my last blog but if it is i hope people read my blogs for many years after. Nah just kidding. I’m gonna be honest if my blog is realevent two years in the future when I graduate that’ll be amazing!!

But if this blog teaches you anything it is think your own thoughts you don’t always need to think like the rest. This blog is my thoughts, and i believe that that’s what blogging is. Support it with a couple facts and BAM!!! you got a blog.

I was thinking about What i want out of the world and i found i only want one thing. I want people to understand nothing less and nothing more. If the world understands we will see life in a more positive and we would smile more. Understanding I’ve learned from to Kill a Mocking Bird that if we don’t understand how it is for others we can’t truly enjoy each other or life.

Thanks for reading if you want to leave a comment I would love to hear your opinion!!

World peace

Category: Uncategorized

“I hope…that mankind will at length, as they call themselves reasonable creatures, have reason and sense enough to settle their differences without cutting throats; for in my opinion there never was a good war, or a bad peace.”
Benjamin Franklin

When I was watching the movie Miss Congeniality with my sister and i watched each state representative come up and were asked “What would you like to change in the would?” and everyone of them answered WORLD PEACE. I hate to be a Debbie downer but there will never be complete world peace. Not even in the state of Minnesota or the city of Buffalo there will not be world peace. Not until we all are to except each other for who we are and who we want to be.

Some people have been able to except and have the right approach on peace in my opinion. To name a couple Martin Luther Kinkg Jr. , And Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Both almost Jesusfigure of the modern day, but both used peaceful ways of leadership and non violent protests.

“At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
I do not believe World is possible because the media Covers too much negative compared to good now and there is just too many people with so many different point of views. Just look Israelwe can’t even keep peace in a country that small with all those diverse culture which leaders to conflict for decades between the Jewish, Muslim, and Christan Community.

“All the religions of the world, while they may differ in other respects, unitedly proclaim that nothing lives in this world but Truth.”
Mohandas Gandhi

If thats not enough I think the With a bias of the media we can’t have World peace. The media will always be reporting more negitive then positive news when we are down and when we are in good times news will always be good.

Sadie Holland

Category: Uncategorized

When I read Sadie’s blogs I’m reminded on how important accuracy and seeing both sides of the story are.  These are things she stressed later in her blogs. As her blog devloped she had more meat on blogs and more links making her blogs more and more  interesting.

The two thing I would suggest is to continue on what she was doing getting more words and more links. This in turn would make her blog more creditable as journalist compared to just a person saying their opinons. I would also suggest thinking out side the box compared to the normal thinking take the blog and twist it to make something unique.( if you need an example Mitch Budde does a great job of doing this)

The one thing I like about your later blogs is that sadie makes an effort to see both sides of the issues she talkes about. For example in blog named The Hoofprint of the Future… Sadie discusses how she like matt’s news paper idea but then she relates back to her own opinon how she likes to read the local newspaper.

My overal favorite blog of Sadie’s is One wrong decision & a life forever changed it showed the struggles of a high school student/athlete  who was in a car accident with a drunk driver. It by far was my fvorite beacuse it had the most meat out of all the blogs Sadie did.

New found hope of life

Category: Uncategorized

when you speak to any mother it’s a beautiful apart of nature to give birth. As my mother spoke about the experience I couldn’t help but to think of how much I should be thankful to have a mom like that. but she speaks of it like it was a great comedy show she seen recently. So here is her story:

It all starts with in anticipation of having the baby. Getting to the hospital is only half the battle.

“One Lady that was in the room next to us was extremely loud and had a mouth of a truck was trying to leave, said Pam Lee. ” she had her coat on and was just about to leave when she was about to give birth and our doctor, his name was doctor Abraham who was this guy short little Indian doctor. He had very choppy English he told her  “No no you have to stay her” We were busting a gut! We knew she was going to make it down to end hall.”

The pain she spoke of intolerable but so much that regular pain was nothing compared to the pain that she was in.

“Luckly it’s something you forget about, said Pam Lee. “If you didn’t forget about the pain most mothers would only have one child and would be done. But maybe that would help the population if we did remember the pain.”

She this story of one lady from Barrow Wisconsin who had nine children and claimed that she had to no pain when she gave birth most of her children were born in their house or in the car.  All of her children were red haired freckled children.

After it was all done the baby isn’t given to you till like 15 minutes later after they do all the check she if the babies alright.

“It’s a feeling of a accomplishment, said Lee. “After going through so much hell, and so relieved. It’s very thrilling after it’s all done waiting thinking “Where is the baby, baby,Where the baby? and finally they give you the baby.”

“It’s allot of work. it’s allot of work having them. It’s allot of work raising them. It’s just allot of work.” Said Lee, ” You got to make sure you know what your getting into. it’s very rewarding tho at the end of the day.”

Who’s the president?

Category: Uncategorized

People these days seem to have an obsession with celebrities, reality TV, and gossip. Part of the problem is the media isn’t making us react to the news and making us more informed in form of papers. The media owners got to be almost like an father figure and make a stand and go against what we want. instead of giving us meat give us come veggies to keep us healthy. By that I think that we should bring back at least the paper and make more news about government.

The issue media the way it’s presented to the public is the most key part about the news if the news isn’t present right people won’t watch, or they fall asleep during it. I’m just throwing ideas out but maybe we should try putting the news in a inform way have everyone in normal cloths make it more relax, or even make the anchor person very attractive to keep people’s attention. This is a very tough issue getting people news but it’s got to taken on. The people of America can’t make this choice I offen compare them to the people of roman in the play Julius Caesar. After Julius Caesar the crowd that listened to Augustus Cesar’s speech and believed it after the previous speech that they also believed fully.

“The American Dream?”

Category: Uncategorized

american flag

The show ‘The Riches” (http://http//www.imdb.com/title/tt0496343/)was on FX for two seasons before it was canceled. The show was about a family who switches places with a wealthy family who died in a car accident and they moved into there brand new house and tried to live as the family. At one point they compared what they were doing to their conquest for the American dream.

At one point in the show Actres  Dahlia Malloy Said “the American dream isn’t free we have to take it!”

The american dream is slowly fading away and changing the dream during the 40′s and 50′s (http://http//darthvadermeditations.blogspot.com/2005/08/1950s-american-dream.html) is different from what we want now. The dream during the 40′s and 50′s was to get to  married and have 3 kids, live just out side of the city. The dream today has changed people don’t care they’re American dream is to get rich move into a big house and have a couple kids. statue_of_liberty

The American dream has been around for a long time since the Mayflower (http://http//www.themayflowersociety.com/). Even tho they didn’t know it was the American dream. They lived the American dream to be free from the English that was there American dream. The African American’s had a American dream to be free and equal with the whites of America. Even the people tonight as you sleep have an American dream that is blocked by the  1,951 mile fence (http://http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico_%E2%80%93_United_States_barrier) between USA and freedom, and the Mexican border of  poverty. They’re only two miles away from helping their family have a better life and them, and There American dream. To make a better life for their  kids and their kids after that and their kid’s kids.

I can’t tell people what to do with there life but i can tell you that they’re someone waiting behind the fence of a border and sitting out in a cold street in Russia and the two point two million the Refugees of chad. The chance to live a life of freedom.

We have came a long way but how much farther to do we have to go?

Category: Uncategorized

Last night I watched an every eye opening movie called “Guess Who’s Coming Over For Dinner”  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061735/ It’s a film made in 1967 Directed by Stanley Kramer stars Specncer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, Sidney Poitier. and Katharine Houghton. It’s about a white girl who wanted to marry a black man and what they had to do to get approval from father and mother.

guess_who_s_coming_to_dinner_1

This film opened my eyes in the way of how far we have came since  Martin Luther gave I had a dream speech on August 28, 1963. and African Americans have been treated better but not the best we are still singling out African Americans and Hispanic  and giving them special treatment, and i found out white Americans still have that same grudge the white Americans have had against Asian Americans During World War two. Against the native Americans who waited till 1924 to become citizens of the untied states of America.

We still have those people in our countries media that behind closed doors have grudges against minorities. That is why i was surprised the now President Obama blew out John McCain so badly. It really showed me how strong was to get as far as he did.

naacplogo2

I think we shouldn’t think of people as they appear. I believe that people should be viewed as not “the black guy” or “that Asian”. I think we should be all viewed as one color we judge of what kind of personality they have not by the color of the skin or what race there parents are.

Before one night where it was sleeting and where hand warmers were your best friend everyone gathered around Jon and he got us pumped with a rap.

That was just how Jon was. He could make everyone laugh no matter what mood they were in you could of had the shittiest day and come to practice and he could make your day great. You couldn’t get made at him he just brought a smile to everyone who he meet. He just had a vive that made you love him.

Choices make paper better?

Category: Uncategorized

newspaper-of-the-future-citizen-journalism-435

Choices will be the death of  newspaper or even the death of modern media, by making everything what you want. The way that is America is run gives us all the choices to accept news we want to hear or ignore the news we don’t want to hear. The news paper of the future I hope people are forced to know about all important news at least the important stuff  so that the lawmakers or the US government does get away with making smart important choices.

If people get what they want will the media’s right to cover government events be effect or used as well? Will there be more Government scandals like Watergate? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/watergate/

I believe the American people will suffer majorly from personalizing their news. I believe the American government will have a another pay day like they did during the George H. Bush years where a Amendment was to passed just to prevent this. http://usgovinfo.about.com/cs/agencies/a/raise4congress.htm
